Around and round we go
Watch me as I walk really fast in my around-we-go! I especially love it when someone chases me on their knees. I finally caught him cooperating while I could film and not chase! Enjoy.
Two bottom teeth and my first cold
Well, as most of you know, Asher & I opted to stay in PA rather than venture to TX this week with all the threats of the swine flu going around. I still think it was the best decision even though the threats don't seem to be as bad now. Better safe than sorry. It turned out to be a good thing for other reasons too. Asher came down with a cold the day Matt left (Saturday). Matt ended up being delayed for 2 hours at the airport and then had to circle around Dallas for almost an hour before landing due to the thunderstorms they were having. I was very thankful to not be on that flight with a sick boy trying to time take off and landings so he would eat something. He was not as interested in food being sick and all. Well much to my surprise today I felt he had cut two bottom teeth. I thought I felt something but then I was able to see them barely poking trough the gums on the bottom. He would have been miserable being carried around to and fro not feeling well. In the end, it all worked out as it should other than daddy got to miss out on all the fun. he really has not been too bad through the whole thing. A little more tired and clingy. An extra wake up at night but all in all - I think he has done great! He seems like he might be rounding the corner today. I have not had to come at him with the dreaded tissue as many times today!
We sure missed seeing everyone though. Matt is trying to convince me to come back down over the 4th of July already. I really want to go to the beach though this summer. We have some really nice beaches within a reasonable driving distance from us. We'll see.

Turkey in our backyard!!

We have not seen the turkey in our backyard in quite some time but one decided to pay us a visit on Easter. They seem to be back around for the Spring time. The last time I tried to catch a picture the sound from the camera scared them off. They are a little more sensitive than the deer who are out in our yard every day. It is pretty neat to see all the wildlife around here just 20-30 minutes from downtown. I happened to look up and catch a woodpecker in the yard last week but it flew off before I finished my conference call. (my office looks out right over our backyard. There is a large window. It is pretty awesome since I have to work from home).
our picnic in our backyard.

Spring has definitely arrived here in Pittsburgh. I have never seen so many beautiful flowering trees. i should try to get out next week and take some pictures. Here are some pictures of Asher discovering grass. we have that really luxurious grass in our backyard. It was a beautiful weekend here.
Yesterday, we took advantage of the trail about 5 minute from our house and went for a family walk/jog and had lunch after at this little greek place afterwards. Then...I had a whole 1.5 hours to myself to take my new bike (I got it for my birthday) out for a ride. The trail near our house goes on for miles (all the way to DC). It was awesome and I love my new bike. I can't wait until I can take Asher in the little carrier in the back. We ended the day meeting an old high school friend of Matt's. It was a perfect family day!
watch me scoot like an inch worm...not quite crawling
Here is a little video of asher learning to crawl. he scoots along like an inch worm or just physically pulls himself forward by force. he can definitely get around on the floor already. i think he might be crawling within a month. time to shop for baby gates. our house has a lot of stairs!

Is that for me?
You can have mine!

Asher had his mouth open while facing Aleah and she knew just want he needed to have in his mouth so she helped him out and shared her finger! they both are finger babies vs. pacifiers. Asher has never been too fond of a paci other than to chew on it. It was really too funny to watch her just reach out and offer hers.
A little laugh from Asher to you!
It has been a busy week as we are hosting Easter at our house this year. it has forced us to get some much needed last minute things done like finish unpacking a few last boxes. Matt & I both tend to work better with deadlines to motivate us sometimes for those last few things. It looks like we will have some really great weather on Sunday.
Here is some video I took of Asher with his infectious laughter. He is really getting to be quite expressive and fun these days along with a little more attitude when he does not want to do something like change his diaper! Love, Asher
