Bye, bye bottles!

Last week Asher had his last bottle. He made the transition very well. It helps that he really likes how milk tastes! The day he had his very last bottle......I had given him his bath and we were headed downstairs. He was tired and being fussy. So, I said - do you want your bottle? I rarely said this to him and just waited for him to see it. He screamed a very long BAAAAAAAA.....I could not help laugh thinking....good call out for the last one you will get.

I would like to believe this smooth transition is because of my excellent parenting skills but I realize it has much more to do with the fact that Asher is an easy baby...sigh...toddler. At least for a few more months until the independence grows!

The turkey's done growd up!

Grandmother Shirley here are the turkeys. They are not babies any more. Sorry it took me a while to finally post this picture. Enjoy.

Pumpkin Festival

There are many farms around near where we live. There is one in particular that does a great pumpkin festival complete with Bounce houses, petting zoos, funnel cake, pumpkins, hayrides.... you get the picture. Today we took Asher out to get some pictures of him with some pumpkins. He had more fun try to walk on the gravel paths they had set up and picking up rocks but it was a nice cool fall day.

Our Little Pirate

He loved this climbing wall. Of course, I had to help him up it.
This is Asher with his little buddy Rene. They met through the Little Gym and his parents live about 10 minutes from us. We try to get together every few weeks to play. she is 1 month younger than Asher.
Checking out Elmo.
So Darn Cute!

Grannie's visit

Giving Grannie some kisses.

Out at Falling Water. Frank Lloyd Wright's house about 2 hours from our place. That is the home above that water fall in the background.
I am a little late in posting these. Grannie came up for a visit over his birthday weekend.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Asher loves to dance and this shows just a few of his moves. He cracks me up when he starts shaking his head back and forth like the video and trying to move around in circles. I will try to catch some better video in the next week. It is hysterical to watch him. The person who watches him during the week has played the same CD for him when they go up to the playroom for months and months. He has all kinds of moves when he recognizes songs. He is growing up so fast!

Our little man's first birthday!

The last present of the day from Da Da!

He had a great time with all the people and kids running around the house.
Grandpa Curry wearing one of Asher's presents. Doesn't he look handsome?
Look at all the toys and friends we had over. We had a great time and our little man had a blast.

A little lunch before the party got under way. He loves to wrinkle up his nose and make this face when he has done something good or he is proud of himself. I got him to make the face for me after lunch. The picture doesn't quite capture the whole essence.

At first, he did not quite know what what to do with the cake. He has to test things out and this was something new. After one taste of icing from mom, he decided he liked it quite well. He was quite tired here. It was his nap time and he was a little tired....well, until he had all that sugar. It was an awesome day for us all.

New bathtime trick

Last night during Asher's bath he figured out he could slip and slide in the bathtub while standing. He would stand up and place his feet apart - try to bounce a bit to get his feet to slide sideways underneath him. He thought it was a lot of fun. Of course, I was concerned he was going to do the splits or bust his head open. So, we found the compromise with my arms always within close reach even though he wanted to push them away. I must admit it was pretty funny watching him. However, I rather hope he forgets this little trick for bath time tonight.

Playing with the Ducks

Mely took these today on their daily walk. she found somewhere close to our neighborhood where they have some ducks. Ducks is one of the words he can say these days so I am sure he runs around saying duks, duks, duks....
