Daddy gave me a bath

Everyone who knows Matt knows he has to do things differently or just test the waters or just try to find the humor in anything including giving Asher a bath. It is hard to see but if you look closely you will see that Asher came down wearing a mohak after his bath with his dad.

Our First Family Vacation

I think he is saying.,...."really mom, I look like an idiot!".....
we went to the butterfly garden on our way out of town. Thanks Jacqui & Jay again for the front facing baby carrier. He definitely prefers to see what is going on vs. facing the other way!
the sun was shining and we had a picnic in the park. It was a bit chilly but felt great in the sun and there were beautiful flowers blooming everywhere.
My first swing ride. I was much more interested in the kids next to me than the fact that I was actually in a swing!

Beautiful rainbow due to the mist from the falls. These are the canadian falls vs. the american side of the falls.
Yes, I really will wear this hat, no problem. It helps keep the sun out of my eyes!

We went to Niagara on the Lake the weekend before Memorial day. It is about 4.5 hours from our house and about 30 minutes from Niagara Falls. It was crazy windy the day we made it out to the falls but the sun was shining. Overall, we had a good time but mom was a little exhausted by the end of the vacation because Asher was waking up about every two hours at night on the road. We stayed in a place where we did not have our own thermostat control on the room and it was a bit chilly so....the three of us ended up sleeping a few hours in the AM in a queen size bed! I guess I should be more of a researcher when it comes to these things...but I am more of a wing it kind of gal and I can only do so much! We got really lucky overall with the weather given it was sunny most of the trip albeit a bit cool but we enjoyed our first trip together and Asher has already been to Canada at only 7 months!

First ear infection

I have since learned that after kids get a cold it is common for them to get an ear infection. Asher has still been a little irritable even after getting over most of the symptoms of his cold last week.I thought maybe he was getting top teeth b/c Matt got his teeth within weeks of each other. however, yesterday his eye started watering and having some discharge. Apparently, this is a symptom of an ear infection. I called the Dr. since we are leaving for out of town on Thursday just because I did not want him seeing some random Doc in Canada. Good thing. He has a mild ear infection and he would have been even more miserable in a few days.

Peek a boo bouncing fool

Asher loves to wave a blanket around while he is playing. most of the time it just a little travel blanket or whatever they call them but this one was on the bouncer when I put him in it. He seemed to have a good time with it though! I thought this was rather funny so I had to post it.

Hanging out with my aunts

My mom's sisters, Pam, Michelle & Pat came for a visit with a long detour from their trip to DC.
DC is about 5 1/2 hours from our house. it was great to see them!

here is the beautiful quilt that aunt Pam made.
Michelle out on the patio at the Grandview Saloon. It overlooks the city of pittsburgh and it was the perfect day for it. The last of the 80 degree days we have had this spring for a bit.
Here they are at Church Brewworks, anyone who comes to PA goes here. It is an old Catholic church that has been decomissioned and they turned it into a brew pub.  They make very tasty beer. (Pat, Pam & Michelle in that order)

Welcome Will Joseph Fairleigh!

Our dear friends Joe & Kersten welcomed a healthy baby boy about 4 weeks ago. He was born 8 weeks early but he is already home with them keeping them up at night like every good newborn should! He does already know how to go to sleep on his own from being in teh NICU for almost 3 weeks. I am betting that might change though. We shall see. He sure is cute and he is growing. Congratulations!

More almost crawling video

This one is for the grandparents. It is a little long but you can see how he can scoot across the kitchen floor a bit. And Emerson had to make sure to get into the shot too. Btw, the banging noise is me on teh floor trying to get him to turn around and head back towards the camera.....

Around and round we go

Watch me as I walk really fast in my around-we-go! I especially love it when someone chases me on their knees. I finally caught him cooperating while I could film and not chase! Enjoy.

Two bottom teeth and my first cold

Well, as most of you know, Asher & I opted to stay in PA rather than venture to TX this week with all the threats of the swine flu going around. I still think it was the best decision even though the threats don't seem to be as bad now. Better safe than sorry. It turned out to be a good thing for other reasons too. Asher came down with a cold the day Matt left (Saturday).  Matt ended up being delayed for 2 hours at the airport and then had to circle around Dallas for almost an hour before landing due to the thunderstorms they were having. I was very thankful to not be on that flight with a sick boy trying to time take off and landings so he would eat something. He was not as interested in food being sick and all. Well much to my surprise today I felt he had cut two bottom teeth. I thought I felt something but then I was able to see them barely poking trough the gums on the bottom. He would have been miserable being carried around to and fro not feeling well. In the end, it all worked out as it should other than daddy got to miss out on all the fun. he really has not been too bad through the whole thing. A little more tired and clingy. An extra wake up at night but all in all - I think he has done great! He seems like he might be rounding the corner today. I have not had to come at him with the dreaded tissue as many times today!

We sure missed seeing everyone though. Matt is trying to convince me to come back down over the 4th of July already. I really want to go to the beach though this summer. We have some really nice beaches within a reasonable driving distance from us. We'll see.

Check out my new ride

We decided to get him a walker to run around the house.  Here he is enjoying the outdoor sidewalk one afternoon.
