Merry Christmas

Later in the morning - Mommy is playing with the blower too.
A little Christmas treat left in Asher's stocking by Santa. Yes, he has a bruise on his forehead that he got a school earlier in the week. A girl took him head first into the lockers (cubbies) when she fell while they were holding hands dancing. It did not really bother him too much but he had a pretty good knot on his head when I picked him up.

Some awesome new black boots for mommy.
He loved, loved, loved his chainsaw and blower.
He got a new drum set from Santa which he loves. It was a rather musical theme for Christmas and he already knew what the bass drum and cymbal were on his drum set from watching Fresh Beats. He got a small piano from his pa pa and Lisa which allows us to 'jam' together while he plays his drums. The drums will be moved next week upstairs to the playroom so we don't have to play them at 7 AM! :)

Christmas was exciting this year as it always is but it was even more so seen through the eyes of a two year old who was first learning about Santa. Asher's and Matt's favorite Christmas show was the Disney Prep and Landing special about the elf and santa. He watched almost nightly before taking his bath for about 2 weeks before Christmas. It was part of his daddy time. While we had the "elf on the shelf" out this year - he was still learning all about what it meant. I am confident he will remember next year when the time rolls around. I can't believe that it is almost 2011 but I can't say I am not ready - that means one day closer to Asher's baby brother or sister coming! Happy New Year All!

Couple precious stories

We had a play date earlier this week with Asher's friend, Rene and a little girl named Claire. Rene is Asher's age and Claire is about 6 months younger. We were at Chik Fil A in the play area and Claire was tired because it was nap time for all the kids. She did not want any of the other kids on the steps going up to the slide and play area and would scream any time one of them was on her step. Asher proceeded to lay down next to her on the step above so his head was closer to hers and tell her as he tapped her back lightly "it's ok, my little buddy". "you alright". It was so cute. He is such a sweet, caring, happy little boy.

I don't know where the "little buddy" phrase has come from but he also walked in this morning saying morning little buddies. I think he was talking to his stuffed animals. Monkey and Doggie are his favs and he sleeps with those.

The next one I want to log is from school which he loves and just this week has started singing the songs he is learning there at home. I was picking him up yesterday and he was telling everyone bye and he said to his friends - bye bye best friends. I don't know to which kid he was talking or who has used the term best friends because I not yet but it was very sweet to say the least.

Loving the leaves

We are finally getting around to cleaning up the leaves in our yard but the good news is we will only have to do it once! Asher had a blast yesterday running and playing in the piles raked up by daddy while mommy put up Christmas lights outside. You learn to take advantage of nice weekends while you can do get stuff done even though the lights will be up a little early but only a week!

Ben's Birthday Take 2 - Papa's house

Asher loved his big cousin, Jake. He wanted to be very close to him no matter what he was doing.

Brayden with his daddy being goofy. It is no wonder where Ryleigh gets to making the faces she makes when you take a photo.
Grandmother Shirley with her great grandkids. We have Asher, Bella, Brayden, Ryleigh and Jake from left to right.
Brother and sister.
So sweet.

Patiently waiting for Uncle Ben's cake. This was the second ice cream cake he had and let me just say he loved the fudge best. I looked over once and he had swiped the frozen fudge right off of his daddy's cake. It was the entire top piece.

Aunt Pat even made it over for a visit with Heylana. It was nice to see them both. Heylana was a very sweet girl even when Asher was taking every toy she decided to play with that afternoon!

Halloween 2010 - Superman to save the day!

He had to have a little candy before we started but he only had about 1/3 or small candy bar and then didn't even finish that. He was more interested in chasing the next door neighbors kids around than anything else. He had a big time running with them around the neighborhood.

Asher's Birthday Party - Bugs was our theme!

He got a new set of golf clubs. He now owns all the major sports items including a new hockey net and sticks thanks to Gregg, Madison and Melissa Huber.
Here you can see all the kids helping to open his presents. It was rather funny because we had 7 kids at the house and we had 5 pregnant woman.
Here is Asher with his buddy, Rene, that we met at the Little Gym.
Yummy! The cake was really very good. I finally found the right bakery here in PA.
Happy after everyone sang him happy birthday!
Blowing out the candles.
Bubble monster! Instead of renting anything - we opted to have a bubbles and chalk set up for the kids outside. We created a giant tunnel in the house and set up a play doh table. It was a gorgeous fall day so I think all the kids had a great time.

Here is the cake! I loved it and believe it or not it tasted wonderful! He loved all the bugs I found at the dollar store too. I did not put any on the cake - it came decorated like that already.

Hugs from his cousin, Aleah!

Asher turns two!

These are some pictures from our family celebration on his actual birthday. You can see he got a new big wheel, which dad stayed up a little late to put together. He is just about 2 inches short from reaching the pedal when it is all the way extended but that will come soon enough. He figured out other ways to ride his "bicycle".
