Pa Pa and Lisa's visit from Texas

Kisses for Lisa before bed. He loved running through the house and Lisa was his favorite accomplice during their stay. It is one of his favorite things to do when we are home. He was asking for her to "run Lisa" for a few days after they left.
Just love this picture playing with pa pa. yes, nice and calm before bedtime! Ha!
Building a fort with Pa Pa. Pa Pa and Lisa really got him more interested in the blocks building these really tall forts. We have played with them in the past but he enjoys them much more since there visit.
Working with Lisa to put together his own choo choo track.
Pa Pa was getting his belly and Asher was eating it up as you can see here.

Sandbridge Beach, VA 2010

We had a great time at the beach this year. We went with two other couples and their kids for a week. We drove this time and I must admit -Asher did great. We split the trip between two days which helped considering it would have been about 12 hours in a car with stops and traffic. I95S out of DC is horrible on a Saturday which you would never imagine unless you been there. Here is helping Grace build (tear down) her sand castle. Asher was a little more interested in wrecking the sand castle's rather than building them.
He found a little sword which he played with our last couple of days.

Here he is on daddy's shoulders. they went for a walk almost daily. I say walk but really Asher preferred to make him run rather than walk and he had a definite opinion about which direction you could take him.
Here in the bunk bed with the girls. He loved climbing in the bunk beds whenever he could get into that room. These are the Bennett's girls - Maddie & Grace. Grace on the right was Asher's favorite.
Here are all the kids from the trip. Grace, Maddie & Connor, Will, who was 6 months younger than Asher and the Fairleigh's little one. They all played well together and Asher was enamoured by Connor too.

Lovin the corn this year!

Don't you wanna play with me?

This was actually the last photo but I can't seem to get Blogger to post in the order I want them!
The Talk

Here are a few pictures Mely snapped of Asher at the mall play area while he was trying desperately to get this little girls attention. She did not seem to mind because Mely was able to take like 8 or 9 pictures while the two were getting to know each other..

"whose dat?"

"whose dat?", "whose dat?".....over the past week Asher has figured out everything has a name! "Whose dat" is Asher's way of saying what is that? He misses nothing as he is a curious little fellow like most kids his age. Just last night - he noticed a pimple on my face and I had the finger pointing at it asking "whose dat?". It is fun to see the excitement and growth as they change. Now I will digress to being the proud mommy I am and also log some fun things in the blog which I will later print out on an annual basis. Here I go! He can count to 20 these days in English and 13 in Spanish. 13 because we have 13 steps in the house. He is singing his ABC"s and various other songs like Twinkle Twinkle, wheels on the bus and old MacDonald. He loves any shows that have dancing and music in them. Every morning we have to turn on the "muhsac" and play daddy's ipod loud so he can dance and if Matt is giving him a bath then the ritual follows before bed time. It definitely relaxes him and gets him ready for bed. Ha!

He crawled out of his crib the other day but I was watching him do it. We are working on getting Asher's room set up and transitioning his day naps to his room for the next month or so to get him accustomed to it before we make the full leap.

He still loves to play with any kids and especially likes to get the little girls attention whenever possible. It is so very cute to watch. He loves babies which I am excited to see so hopefully things go well with the new addition next year. Just a quick update since it has been a while and I don't really have a great excuse other than being exhausted by 8:30 PM! :)

Congrat's Jeff & Shelly

Shelly looked beautiful and they both were thrilled to be getting married. Congrats Shelly & Jeff. We love you!
It was a little warm and humid the day of the wedding thanks to tropical storm, Alex. It was still a tropical storm when it went through Belize and skirted Cancun area with some lovely rain!

Her dress was beautiful but we did not get a great picture! (matt had the camera, of course! hee hee)

All boy!!

Asher is all boy! We spent the 3rd of July over at some friends house and their backyard was a wonderland for him. He was in heaven between the two toys you see here in the video and the play set too. In the video with the rings, it took him about 2 times watching an older boy jumping off of a stump you can barely see when he begins before he was needing to try it himself. He got it right the first time. Then, he wanted to move back to the 3rd stump and jump from there. (they were in a row with the last being slightly higher than the first two) I tried to stop him from trying that one but after a few minutes of battles I finally just let him try. The worst that could happen was a little scraped knee and he only tried it once!

Needless to say we spent the entire party with him on some toy but we did the tag team. He was worn out the next day because we stayed until almost 10 to watch some fireworks. As usual with most loud noises, he is curious about them and does not necessarily want to leave but they also make him a little afraid. He is good about working through it though.

Happy 4th

It may look like a random shot of him in a parking lot but.....it is really Asher getting on his dance moves. Any time a float came by that had music - they boy had to show his moves. He still loves to dance and loves music.

To get him to even focus on the parade, he had to get on "sholders". He was good for about 20 minutes which is excellent for him! This parade was quite long. It was over 2 hours but we left after an hour and half and he did not make it back to the car before passing out. He actually passed out on daddy's shoulders!

Asher & Aleah's visit to the zoo

We took the kids to the zoo last month along with the grandparents, Pop pop and Gigi. They had a great time and Asher especially loved anything he could watch that was swimming in water. We had to tear him away from these sea lions!
